In conversation about church there’s always the obligatory reminder that the “church is the people.” That’s true and should never be forgotten. But the church is also an entity in itself full of tradition. The church is composed, not merely of current members, but of all who have gone before. She’s a legacy of bloodstream, sweat and tears. People have given their lives to form the institution.
As a Christian folks, we participate in God. The Church belongs to God. She is the bride of Christ. She actually is his body made up of many members, yet one. She’s a purpose.
Determining that purpose is often fraught with serious battles of can and conscience. Some notice her as a good where Christians go to drink and be filled. She actually is. Some observe her as a springboard for “going forth into all the world.” She is. Some observe her as a way to obtain social interaction in an otherwise lonely world. She is. เรียน TOEIC The church, this battered organization, is all these things and more.
There is comfort in custom. It binds us as a scattered men and women. Attending church in a weird town with individuals who are unfamiliar to us, one can sing hymns and produce statements of faith that deliver unity. In this time and this place strangers are family. Because of this hour there is one church, the body of Christ. The traditions of the institution spans room and time. It creates tangible the guarantee of Christ that where two or more are gathered in his name, He’ll be in the midst of them. The communion of saints will be mortar in a fragmented world. Worship may be the tie that binds.
Worship is one element of the institution. It is the heart and soul. Prior to the church can go out in to the globe she must acknowledge her Creator and Sustainer. The traditions, hymns and creeds come from a long line of individuals who could no more contain their take pleasure in of God and of His persons. They put words to paper to offer back to God their souls in gratitude and pleasure. The people read and sing hoping of making exactly the same offering. Church, the institution, retains the legacy in order that Church, the people, may convey devotion to God as one.
The expectation is that body of believers will keep worship refreshed , renewed and filled with surprise at the grace of God through Christ and bring this wonder out in to the world, out of the safety and familiarity of the institution.
